Rendition

I watched this movie last night with my husband. It was one of those movies I loved to hate. It was really good but it made me so angry. At the same time it really made me think. While I think torturing is wrong, there are some instances where people really ARE withholding information that can save thousands. The problem is is that when do they know when someone is truely guilty and truely has information or is just lying to get out of being tortured? It's a tough situation and there is no simple solution. I don't personaly beleive in physical pain torture but at the same time how can I tell the governmment not to do it, when hypocriticly I'd be the first one to be in these people's faces if any of them ever blew up a building my four year old or husband happened to be in. It's a sad situation. It just seems like there should be some way that these mistaken identity or misunderstandings do NOT happen..Terrorists don't mind killing themselves for what they beleive to be a just cause, but dying instantly and being tortured are two completly seperate issues..it's a hard movie to watch.

Recipe Review: Protein Pancakes

Recipe calls for:

one cup quacker (not sure I spelled that right) oats, non instant.

one cup lowfat cottage cheese.

one tsp cinnamin

one tsp vanilla extract

2 small sugar substitute packets like splenda

3 eggwhites

Blend all ingrediants together in a blender or food processor. Cook on low heat like you would normal pancakes. Heat up 1/2 cup sugar free syrup to pour over.

So I tried the recipe. While it's nothing to write home about in my opinion, these Protein Pancakes are pretty good considering the ingrediants they are made out of. The point of them is to get in a good protein source and whole grain source in the same meal while still having it be slightly tasty. Anyone who is making them probably lifts alot of weights and does intense cardio so they do not expect them to taste like the really good and rich pancakes you'd eat on a "cheat" day.

Movie Review: Felon

So we went to the movie store yesterday and rented "Felon". I had no idea what it was about until we started to watch it. It starred Val Kilmer, Stephen Dorff, and Harold Perrineau. It was one of those movies that just piss you off the entire time your watching it.

*Spoilers*

Basicly the plot is that Stephen Dorff's charactor and his family are doing great. He and his fiance of years are about to get married, they have a beautiful little boy and just got approved for a large business loan. In the middle of the night someone breaks into their home. Stephen's charactor jumps up and grabs a baseball bat. He and his wife run to their son's room and see that while their son is fine, the culprit had climbed in through their son's window. Hearing a noise somewhere in the house, Stephen's charactor finds the culprit and chases him out of the house. The guy is running but starts to turn around and reach into his pocket. Stephen's charactor thinks he is reaching for a weapon of some sort and wacks him with the baseball bat, accidentally killing him. Now I THINK this took place in California but am not sure,. It was filmed in New Mexico. Apparently, at least in the movie, the law states that you can only claim self defense if the criminal is still in your house. If they are in your yard and leaving, they are no longer considered a threat, so he was charged with murder and went to prison. The movie continues from there and just continues to piss you off. Man oh man did that make me mad. I mean what the hell, the guy that broke into YOUR home, through YOUR son's bedroom and stole your wallet and for all you know wanted to harm you has more rights than YOU do?! Ugh!

Anyway, it was a really good movie because it made emotions erupt inside me LOL

Welcome

Welcome to my new and improved Review Blog. I will start off shortly with a review on a movie I watched last night. I hope you enjoy my reviews and it's good to be back posting on this blog. I've neglected it as it's been over 6 months since I posted last!

Big Changes

Well, it's been many months since I posted here last. As much as I love the paranormal, there isn't much market out there for a paranormal blog. Maybe I can pick it up again sometime but I have decided to do a review blog instead. Reviews of food, recipes, movies, games, and other products.

Remember when you were a kid, and reading Treasure Island and Blackbeard and watching all those pirates on tv? The one thing they always seemed to be after was gold. In fact, owninggold bars or gold coins has been known to be the best way to preserve ones wealth. You can invest in many forms of precious metals through the Monex company. Silver and Gold and other precious metals are available to be purchased and either directly deposited into a private bank or delivered right to your doorstep. The best time to buy is now. Ready To Get Back To It

Been having some stressful times of late but once these are over I am ready to really get this blog up and running. I haven't put much effort into it lately, especially the ghost stories. I had planned on doing them daily but have had a lack of people to discuss the stories with therefore I haven't had any. I will try and think of something. Other than that, not much happening over here ladies and gentlemen. Catch you later

Computer Problems

I've been having computer problems the last two weeks. Sorry about the no posts. Not much happening here. Had to get a new computer with a new webcam in it. It's pretty neat.

I was watching an episode of Extreme Home Makeover last weekend and the house they were doing was supposently haunted so they brought in a medium to have them ask the ghosts permission to rebuild. Now like the rest of you I love ghost stories and want to believe in them, but come on..this was just pure cheese for tv LOL

Construction Apprenticeships

If your like lot of people, you have often wondered about getting a job in construction and if the money is as good as they say. You probably even know someone who was related to someone working in construction so they were able to start at the bottom and work their way up because they knew someone. If your wanting to get into the construction business and hope to work YOUR way up to possible manager or foreman one day, why not try one of the apprenticeships that can be found all over the country? There are actual construction training schools spread all through the country that offer internships and apprenticeships. This is a great option. You can work, learn AND get paid.

Not An Eerie Story

This was posted on the Jonathan Brandis boards in response to people who wonder why even though they beleive it, and want it to happen, they can't communicate or get signs from passed loved ones, I think this is a great response.

"Alright, Christelle. Here's one I can help you with on account of I have experience in this area these days. There are signs out there, and people are seeing the signs, or blowing right by them all the time. Here's something not too many people know, or maybe they do, but sometimes they forget. Sometimes signs and spirits come through, and when they do they maybe don't give you what you want. They give you only what you need. For everything else, you can count on God having a reason. Don't wanna offend anyone by kind of sounding like I really do have some kind of "in," so I'll start it out with saying, "I believe." I believe God really does have a plan for each of us, and each of us is here for some really good reason. If you're thinking you've got some doubts, and you're thinking you're losing your faith, try looking at it from this kind of strange point of view. You're faith is being tested, Christelle. Testing it is something everyone and everything that challenges your faith is supposed to do. Holding on to it when they do, that's your job. You're doing a good job, Christelle. I mean, maybe God wanted you to throw that question out about doubt, and it's part of a bigger piece of some really cool puzzle. I mean, that'd be a good thing, dontcha think? Don't let go of that faith of yours, no matter what happens between right now and the time someone comes one day to help you cross into the Light. Lose the doubt, the faith will see you through"

Ashleigh Aston Moore

Oh wow..do you remember that movie Now and Then? Well the girl who played Rita Wilson's younger counterpart died of a drug overdose. How sad is that? :( She was 26 years old. Please people, stay off the drugs! I found this out on the Jonathan Brandis message boards. Too many young people, famous or not are dying of drug overdoses and other reasons. It's a sick sad world sometimes.

Eerie Story 8

Taken from WW Messageboards

i've never seen a ghost, but i've heard one.

we lived in a really rural part of west tx for a while- real rought and tumble border country in a really rickety old ranch house. that has a wrap around porch. I loved to go out into the yard (it was about 35 acres) and look for rocks (lots of quartz, sometimes you'd find an arrowhead...)
There was this one spot with rock mounds, which looked to us a lot like stettler type grave sites (we had no history of the property aside form what the previous owner could tell us- he inherited it and propery details are more word of mouth down there then documented). one day i found a beat up pocket watch that had some engraving on it (it is illegeble to the naked eye); I looked it up on the net, and the last year that this model was manufactured was 1865.
A few days later our kitchen sink turned on by itself. we made a joke about the ghost wanting his watch back. several times our blankets came off the bed as if they were being pulled away from us to the direction of our feet; we thought it was our dog at first but she was never in the room when it happened, and it always felt like something in the corner to the front left of our bed was staring at us; really creepy and our bedroom was always freezing, even in the summer. We had a porch light that we would make a point to turn off, and if we got up in the middle of the night and went downstairs, it would be turned on. The creepiest thing was if you were downstairs at night, alone it sounded like someone with a cane was walking on the porch. If you went in to use the bathroom you could hear it get closer and closer and then stop right at where you were. there was a window right behind the toilet and I was always afraid to look our of it, so we covered it with a picture

Daily Eerie Story 7

Ok, so they have not been daily of late. Sorry about that ;)

This one is interesting.

Mary Gene loved her cat skittles. She was 25 and lived alone in a small studio apartment. Skittles was her constant companion. She had had skittles for three years, the same amount of time she had lived in the apartment. One day, she came home from work and found skittles lying cold on the kitchen floor. She had had a heart attack. Mary was devistated.

Fast forward two months. Mary had finally met someone. A handsome, polite young man. She invited him over for dinner. As she began preparing the dinner, her boyfriend sat on the couch. Suddenly she heard him yelp. She came running out.

"What's wrong?" she asked. He held up his arm. It was covered in blood. "Your cat just scratched me!"
